KonMari method folding was started by Japanese tidying and decluttering expert, Marie Kondo. With her best-selling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and hit Netflix show Tidying up with Marie Kondo, she quickly became a worldwide household name.

Kondo's method of organizing is known as "KonMari" and consists of gathering one's belongings, one category at a time, and keeping only the things that "spark joy" and choosing a place for everything from then on. The most revolutionary Kondo tidying tool is her folding technique. Rathering than laying clothes flat in a drawer, clothing is folded in a way that stands upright and results in less wrinkling and tremendous space-saving benefits.
